Happy New Year 2067 to all FAAN Members!

I would like to inform you that the 10th Executive Committee (EC) of FAAN has given us (B.R. Adhikari, Mr. Mathura Dongol, and Dr. Prof. Geeta Khadka) the responsibility for conducting the general election of FAAN to elect the 11th EC of FAAN. The election is scheduled to be held on June 18, 2010. It will, however, be held on June25, 2010 if the number of members falls short of required quorum on the day of election (June 18, 2010). The Election Commission would now like to request those members who are interested in contesting the election for the EC to file their nominations. The deadline for filing nomination is 5.00 PM, June 17, 2010. We would also like to request all FAAN general members to renew their membership by clearing their dues prior to filing nominations or before the election.

Decision by the 10th Executive Committee of FAAN

The 10th Executive Committee (EC) of the Fulbright Alumni Association, Nepal (FAAN) under the chairmanship of Acting President Dr. Shridhar Gautam on May 13, 2010 (2067 Baishakh 30), Thursday decided to hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM)- 2009/10 of the FAAN on June 18, 2010 Friday at Fulbright Commission's Auditorium Hall, Gyaneshwore, Kathmandu at 3:30 PM and hold the general election to form the 11th Executive Committee on the same day.

The EC meeting as per the FAAN Constitution (amendment 2066) Clause no. 5.5.2, decided to form three- member Election Commission which will carry out all arrangements for the election as per the Constitution provisions. The Election Commission will comprise of the following:

The EC decided to publish a public notice for the interest of all alumni as per the FAAN Constitution (Amendment 2066) Clause no. 4.3.4 for the information of the election on one of the National daily newspapers such as Gorkhapatra, Nagarik, Kantipur, etc.

The EC decided to request Fulbright Commission, Gyaneshwore to avail the Commission's Auditorium Hall to hold the AGM and the General Election of the FAAN. It was also decided to book the Hall for two days, June 18 and June 25, considering a possibility of rescheduling of the event for not meeting the required quorum on the first notice, which normally has happened.
