Opportunities for Nepali students and scholars to study or conduct research in the United State are announced in the newspapers, radio and on this website. The competitions are nation-wide and open. Selections are made by the Fulbright Commission's bi-national Board of Directors after an intensive review of applications, English language screening, and interviews. Opportunities are also available for American students and scholars to do research or teach in Nepal.
Fulbright Program !!!
The Fulbright Program is an international educational exchange program established in 1946 under legislation introduced by the late Senator J. William Fulbright. Its purpose is to increase mutual understanding and peaceful relations between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.
East West Center Program for Nepali Citizen!!!
Fulbright Building
East-West Center (EWC) Awards include both graduate degree scholarships and funding for short-term programs such as seminars and workshops. Nepalis have also received post-doctoral research awards and the Jefferson Fellowship for journalism. The Fulbright Commission organizes the competition and conducts the first stage of selection for EWC awards, but the East-West Center itself makes all the final selections. The annual East-West Center competition is usually announced in February of each year. Humphrey Program for Nepali Citizen!!!
Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships are awarded competitively to mid-career, policy-level professionals with proven leadership skills and a commitment to public service in either the public or private sector. This NON-DEGREE fellowship provides for one academic year (usually ten months) of study and related professional experiences in the US in a variety of development oriented fields. The annual Humphrey Fellowship competition in Nepal is usually announced in May of each year. Notices are also usually announced on Radio Nepal and published in The Rising Nepal, Kathmandu Post, Nepali Times and Gorkhapatra.
